We meet on the second Saturday of the month. Our typical schedule includes:
09:00-09:45 - Pre-program Workshop (Study of a Novel or A Focus on Craft)
10:15-11:15 - Business Meeting (Don't miss this! The round robin introductions let you know what your fellow writers are doing.)
11:30-12:30 - Program
Following the meeting many members go to lunch. This is a great way to really get to know fellow writers!

Nita Abrams, author of The Spy’s Reward
Nita Abrams will be talking about writing the older heroine in historical romance. In traditional historicals (especially regency-set), characters who have grown children are normally restricted to comic roles as lovers. Not in this book--the older couple (the parent types) are the focus, and the younger couple provide the laughs.
There is a charge of $8 for this session. Price includes a copy of THE SPY’S REWARD, the latest in Nita's critically acclaimed series about an Anglo-Jewish family who serve as intelligence couriers for Wellington.
SWAT Training For Writers
with Sgt. Steve Anderson
Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.
Sgt. Steve Anderson has been a member of the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office for over twenty-eight years. That includes twenty-five years as a SWAT, Sniper, and Entry team Sergeant. With thirty-one years of training in martial arts, he holds a 4th degree Black Belt in Combat Jujitsu, Jujitsu, Karate, Judo, and Aikido.
Over the years, Sgt. Anderson’s duty assignments have included the jail, courts, civil, warrants, detective training, FBI SWAT sniper and undercover work with the Minnesota Fugitive Task Force (FBI). He’s taught for the Criminal Justice program for the Minneapolis Community College for the past 9 years, has been selected to teach internationally 9 times for the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers and the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors and done a lot of other stuff, but we’re out of room!
Sgt. Anderson has agreed to cover several topics from how to predict (and avoid) hazardous situations, what not to carry in your wallet and what makes a good SWAT team member.
